The Foundation’s aim is simple: to give a special welcome to the families of children with special needs and provide unique, supervised and vital day care and respite with support for parents and carers in a carefree environment where there are no sneers or stares.
The Foundation’s Hop Skip & Jump centres provide play and support for children with a disability, life threatening illness, or any special need. They also offer vital day care respite for the children, their families and carers. Hop Skip & Jump give these special children the opportunity to build confidence, social skills and self esteem whilst providing parents, cares and siblings a place to have a well earned break.
Official figures show that 1 in every 15 families has a child with a disability
or special need. We have an option for those parents and carers who are at
breaking point, and frequently help to keep the family together. The need for
such respite is so great that we get requests for help from all over the
country.
We have over 28 years experience of caring for children in our safe, free play
environment, where we provide over 5000 childcare sessions every year.
